Social drag?

I had a friend send to me a unique blog site. This guy posts on all sorts of interesting issues, but the most recent post on March 18th had a new phases I had never seen "Social drag". He uses this term to describe what happens when you start changing, but others close to you do not catch on. Interesting point....are you the person you were a year ago? But how often are you treated as if you are? Those closest to you are the hardest to see change in, since it usually happens gradually.... which tells me that I have been doing this to friends as well! I can think how this happens with your parents, always thinking you are younger than you are....but I kinda like that now that I am getting older. :)
