This past weekend I got to travel. I went to Dallas for work, then straight on to Vegas for the International 20-30 convention. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – and it is probably better that way! The convention was at the Flamingo and I barely left the hotel! Friday night was Nations night. Since it is an international convention, clubs from all over the world come (outside the US it is also called Round Table). Each table sets up something from their country, usually alcoholic. In one case though, I unknowingly ate a chocolate bean with an ant in it! The most unique table for me was the Germans, who had something like pop rocks you put into your mouth before taking a shot. Saturday I hit up the outlet mall before spending the rest of the day at the pool. Then Saturday night was the final Gala. It is a formal dinner where the prior year board members let the new board take over. Being at an event like this reminds me just how small the world is, and how much I have not visited. Also reminded me how much Americans do not know other languages. All of the attendee for the most part spoke English as one of their languages. I have never had a Vegas experience like this!
