Cowboy Chic

This past week, it was Halloween but I hardly did anything. I just carved a pumpkin that night and gave out treats for the kids. With Halloween being in the middle of the week, I did not want to stay out too late!

Friday I went to a Women's Leadership Seminar with several others from work. I heard from some great speakers. One woman was actually at Jonestown and talked about doing the things that you would do if you were never afraid. This was coming from someone who had been shot five times and lived! Really inspirational. Another inspiration came at the end of the day for me personally. I have aspired someday to write a book, not there yet but still on my mind. I talked personally to John Grey, which everyone knows him from Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus fame. I asked him how it was starting out getting a book published. His experience was self-publishing a couple of books and selling thousands before he even had an agent. Things to consider before I go down that road in the future.

Then this weekend started out with looking for a new car. That got me thinking how hard it is sometimes to let go of memories. I looked though a bunch of pictures this weekend and thought about all the people that have been in my life since I have had it, and truly miss many of them. College, camp, and starting my job I have been at since college all happening with this car. I have had some really fun times with my car, but it is getting to the point where it will be more expensive to fix. I still have more looking to do, my trip was cut short to attend a work going away party that night.
Then Sunday, I had a great morning riding around on my bike with Tran! No mountain biking , but at least I got out and the weather is amazing (plus looking at some of my dream houses)! I rode my bike early, so I could get on to another type of ride. Horsebacking riding! Several girlfriends and I went north to Pioneer Village to get lunch, and then ride around. We also got to do alittle ax throwing and archery. I got the slow bus of horses - always wanting to be in the back. I never had to worry about it galloping off too fast. It was a great day with the girls!
