Spring Updates!

Hello Friends! Here are some random updates on happenings in my life. A few weeks ago I went to Kelly’s Baby Shower! Confession – I am not really into any showers, Bridal and Baby etc. When someone throws one for me a word to the wise avoid any games. However, I will say that this one was tastefully done and beautifully decorated. The little girl Kron is due the day after my b-day so I am very excited to have her around then!

The other news – I have a kitty! And that is it’s name right now – Kitty. My family is very surprised since when I was younger I was not a fan of cats whatsoever. About a month ago a cat wandered into the backyard. Well, fed it and then it becomes yours! I thought it may be someone else’s cat since she seemed really friendly and tame, however I discovered quickly that the kitty was not fixed. Heard way too much kitty action from the three toms that were coming over. Long story short, got her fixed and a name tag so now she is mine. She is a tabby with white feet - pretty young cat but not sure how old. Mostly outdoor but I let her in when I am home to feed and play around.

It seems my blog has turned into a story of what state I happen to be in at any moment and today. This past week I was in Vegas for work - which turned out to be the tamest trip ever to Vegas! I never even went to the strip. I have been traveling 2-3 times per month for work recently which looks like it will continue into July, which is a strange existence living out of a suitcase. I find myself having no desire for any short trips on a plane for personal, just for ones that involve going out of the country. If I am going to get on a plane again it better be for a big adventure! I have some big trips planned for summer so I will take my big adventures then. For now, when I am in town for the weekend I have a new desire to get back into the outdoors. The past several years I took somewhat of a hiatus from bring outdoorsy. Don’t get me wrong, scuba diving is fantastic and I have had really fun times doing other volunteer events but I miss climbing and backpacking. There is nothing like being out in nature to calm my soul and get back to basics. Biking has been fun and kinda helps, but I want to get more out there. I have taken a break from teaching to allow more time for in-state adventures. A couple week ago I took a mini-trip to Sedona to get out and hike! Weather is perfect. I have a couple more work travels in the next few weeks. More bike riding as well!

Now this past weekend – massive spring cleaning. Don’t know what got into me but I just went with it! I have been watching too much Oprah (yes I DVR it!) and there is this guy Peter Walsh who is a organization guru. So I went though this past weekend boxes and really got serious about purging items. I also re-did my closet and got all sorts of organizers for the bathroom. I got new nice hangers and put them all in backwards. He has this tip to put your hangers in backwards so that you can see over 3-6 months which clothes you actually use. Supposedly people generally wear only 20% of their clothes on a regular basis. More to be done this coming weekend but I am back on a plane so we will see how much I get done!
