This last month has flown by. I was on a plane way too much – but the good news is that I just have one overnight trip in March! I am looking forward to catching up and doing some spring cleaning at home, plus getting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather! What have I been doing the last few weeks? Two weeks ago I was lucky to have tickets to the Boys and Girls Club Today’s Kids, tomorrow’s stars event! Shaq was there along with about 1,000 other people. It was a very big event and for a good cause. On to other Non-profit activities, I am on the advisory committee for the AZ’s Finest which I was honored for last year. I am helping current honorees plan their events. I have also been really enjoying volunteering as a career coach at Fresh Start Women’s Resource Center. I am so lucky to have the job that I do, and it really puts it in perspective to see so many talented women needing help with their careers.
I am starting to get on my new road bike since I am in town. April was kind enough to take me out for a long ride. I must say riding with an Ironwoman is intimidating, but I managed to keep up for a 26 mile ride. I am loving my new bike and cannot wait to take it out again this weekend. I decided due to my schedule to pass on the Mar. 29th Tri and work towards another one in May. My travel this past month, though really fun, threw off my training (In the past month I have been in Maui, Tahoe, Utah and Colorado, whew!).
This past week I was in Utah for work, then flew straight from there to Colorado for the annual Girls Ski Trip at Copper! This is one of my favorite places to go, just good memories there, we know the town, and ski slopes well. Friday was so freaking cold, blowing snow. But Saturday….ahhhh…Saturday was perfect skiing! New powder, mid 30’s temps and I just seemed to be able to ski well! I conquered Far East! Moguls used to be really hard for me, and while I am not spectacular yet I got down fairly fast and was ready to do another mogul run! That is success! However – I think Copper has cursed me when it comes to technology. Last year, I left a pocket open and my phone apparently fell in the snow. This year, my phone decided to stop working – not even turn on!!! I am still without a phone, but I just ordered the iphone to get here in a couple of days!
