Ironman

No, I did not run it myself but I did go out a week ago to support two fantastic women who did! I spent the whole day out at the race supporting them! It was amazing to watch all of the athletes compete. What amazes me always when watching and running in races is the variety of athletes. There is every age and size there! I was there from 7 am to 9 pm when they finished. I am so proud of Heather and April! I also saw a 78 yr old run the race – and of course the whole day I was thinking how much of a slacker am I if he could do that! I saw this quote today in my daily email “Do something wonderful, people may imitate it.” -- Albert Schweitzer. This quote is true in this case – the day after the race I called my swim team coach to begin tri training with them for my goal of the Soma half-ironman next year. I already have a list of all the races I want to do. I also set up my new treadmill this weekend! This is something I have wanted for years and just got a great deal with the black Friday sales! Now I have no excuses.

The other quote I have been thinking of is “It is better to be kind than right”. I have had several situations recently where, well I was right but it didn’t really matter or help the situation – I have also had the other where, where I was wrong, but again the other person being right also did not help the situation. I am trying in those cases, to just practice the golden rule, ask forgiveness or forgive and just move on. Seems to work better that way to focus on the positive and give each person a chance! :)

For Thanksgiving, I went over to my brother’s place for a great meal made by my Sister in law. My niece is in her two’s and getting a fun personality! Thanks for a great time! Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
