Arrrrgh matey!!

So many of my friends are turning the big 3-0 this year, so it seems every party I attend has to be above and beyond the usually birthday day. In the case of Ami and Kathleen ,they decided to join forces and create "Flax Island" to celebrate their entry into the dirty thrities. Something you must know about the Flax house - is that there is an actual ship built in the backyard from the previous owners, which for this night came complete with a pirate flag. Some of the highlights of the evening included sword fights, fabulous food that reminded me of being back in Hawaii, someone playing the steel drums, and many a pirate having to walk the plank (or be thown in the pool) accompanied by a hearty "ARGGGHHHH". I managed to escape that fate, but did find myself with a cupcake in my face before the end of the night, sniffing frosting (thanks Dan). Now being that this was in AZ, and with temperatures as they are most of the heavy "pirate" gear was removed to pirate bikinis and trunks before long. Although the main theme was getting in to the 30's, the twins and Kfir were also had birthdays close to yesterday so they too got on stage to celebrate yet another year.
