DNF

I now have another title to add to my belt for my races that is a first – DNF (did not finish) or in my case, did not start. I was supposed to do my favorite race this past weekend The PF Changs ½ marathon with a bunch of friends and co-workers. After heading back from Telluride last week I felt a cold coming on but nothing serious. I figured it would be gone. Then, I flew to Utah for work. Maybe I push it alittle too much sometimes, but I thought it would all work out. I just happened to be Salt Lake when the Sundance Film festival was happening at Park City –how could I miss out on that? So I still went and had a great time for a few hours watching paparazzi and seeing a few celebrities (I want to go back last year!). However, by this time I was feeling pretty bad – sinus infection coming on a cough. I decided to see how I felt in the morning so I flew home that night to race. By the next morning I knew I could not race. Ugh….never had that happen! I get a sinus infection about once a year, and it just happened to hit this weekend. I was so disappointed – but I figure this had to happen sometime. I have my first tri on Mar. 29th so I will work to be all healthy for that! However – I have to admit that I had tickets for the Cardinals game – not that I am very big into football but it was the NFC championship game and a ticket like that was a shame to waste. I still went, though sitting most of the game! I am glad I did since it was such a great game to be at. I recovered all day yesterday for my holiday off. :)Time to get my run analysis today to see how I can get better technique.
