Showlow

It is so hot here - so I made it a point to get out of town this weekend. My parents have had a cabin in the White Mountains, but I have not been to it in over a year. I attended graduation on Friday from the school I work at first before leaving. It is so motivating to attend that - and hard to believe 4 years ago I was right there. It made me think about a doctorate degree actually! In the ceremony, it was pointed out how much those around you make a difference in succeding, and my experience was no different. I am still forever in debt to those that helped me, parents and friends, especially a certain someone that supplied me popcorn whenever I needed stress relief!

Then Sunday, I headed up to high country, thinking it would hopefully be cooler. It always happens on any road trip that Murphy strikes. This time, it was high monsoon storms ahead and realizing that my windshield wipers did not work! Stopped, replaced them and discovered they still did not work! Stopped again, and apparently a screw connecting to the windshield wipers was loose. The fun did not end there! During the course of two days, a suicide squirrel was avoided when it somehow stood still in the middle of the road, with the car going over it. And....keys being locked in the car with the car still running! (luckily I always carry a spare) It did end of being cooler, but still hitting 90 up there. The pic is from the way back, going to Woods Canyon Lake and hiking along the Rim.
