What is going on in my life... :)

So it has been awhile since I have posted, so I figured that I would do one big post to catch up for October.

ASU games - At the beginning of October, I had a fun time heading to California to hit the ASU/USC game. The drive there had a few speed bumps (or should I say wrong turns!) So we made it half way though the first quarter. ASU lost, but still had fun with all of the ASU friends. I did have fun the next day hitting Hollywood, shopping on Rodeo and found a wonderful restaurant, The Stinking Rose, all about garlic. http://www.thestinkingrose.com/

Running! Yep, marathon is right on schedule! I have been running every Saturday with my training team at 6:00am (which means I am lame on Friday nights!) but need to get better at being consistent during the week. Ran my first 1/2 marathon this weekend for the YMCA. Two things I learned - I need to eat more! I was doing great, but about mile 10 I hit a wall and had no more goo shots with me, so my speed slowed down. Also , I have had some issues with my ankle so I am getting it checked out and going to wear a brace in the future. I am doing the Las Vegas 1/2 in December so I am excited to improve my time!

Halloween - So one of my best friends Kelly turned the big 30 and in the tradition of that group had a costume party on the weekend of Halloween. This time, due to when she was born the theme was back to the bicenntenial (1976) and it was total fab 1970's party. We had great afros, lots of nice polyester, and even wonder woman. We had some much fun getting fabulous clothes that halfway through the night we changed into different outfits. See Charlie's Angels to the side for reference.

On Halloween night, since I had to work there was no going out but I did start a new tradition of carving a pumpkin. It took awhile, but came out really well. Perfect to do between handing out candy.

And what is going on with work.....fun times! I am so blessed to have a job where I can really make an impact in the lives of many people. I work with people from all over the country, which means I have had several conferences in the last month with staff flying to AZ. I am really getting a great experience networking with so many personalities. I am constantly innovating, so this perfect for me.

Ok...one last item, non-profit work! Still working with the YMCA on the camp board. I am currently working specifically on alumni and starting into a capital campaign for next year. Another project I am working on is mentoring a college student in my former program. They had an event to choose mentors kinda like "speed dating". We were all in a room and the college students could go around and ask questions. Then, the students choose who they would like to mentor them.

Have a wonderful day all!
